April Reese is an award-winning freelance science writer and editor based in Aveiro, Portugal. Her reporting from across Europe, the American Southwest and beyond has appeared in Scientific American, Audubon, Nature, Science magazine, bioGraphic, High Country News, Aeon and other outlets.
