Valuable insights buried in the vast archive of scientific data on key issues
such as criminology will be made available to Britain’s policy makers under an
initiative launched this week. The new National Centre for Evidence-Based
Policy, set up by the Economic and Social Research Council, will gather the
results of worldwide scientific research and present it in an accessible form.
“It’s a world first,” an ESRC spokesman said.
