The American Civil Liberties Union is launching a campaign to put the
spotlight on a shady organisation called Echelon. Echelon’s reputed interception
of all telephone calls, faxes and emails became an international issue this year
when the European Parliament concluded that the US National Security Agency-run
network did exist. The ACLU’s website allows surfers to fax protest letters to
Congress free of charge.
