Interactive videos are just around the corner. A French system called
VideoClick creates hyperlinks in the video. When you connect the video display
to the Internet with a modem, you can click on the screen to get more
information about a favourite singer or to buy a particular product. Researchers
at the Paris-based National Institute for Research on Information Technology and
Automation, which developed the system, believe that until Web TV takes off the
new system will be used mostly for educational videos and interactive exhibits
in museums.
