Oxford University Press has published three more of its biographical
series, Portraits in Science, begun this year. Aimed at capturing readers who
may not know much about science or its giants, each slim volume is written by a
distinguished author. They are impressive: it’s quite something to write
concisely, include everything of importance and remain interesting and lively.:
