Martin Aigner and Günter Ziegler’s Proofs from The Book is described
as “a book which will be fun for everybody with an interest in mathematics”,
requiring only a “very modest” level of ability. Its title is a reference to
Erdös’s greatest compliment about a mathematical proof: that it comes
straight from The Book of truly perfect proofs, held by the Creator. Be warned,
though: “very modest” ability means at least undergraduate maths level.
