C5, which has been squeezed into the frequencies used by video recorders, has
been running on low transmitter power in London to avoid expensive home retuning
of some VCRs, but many viewers in London get poor pictures as a result.

significantly boosted its London transmitter power to see if broadcasting at
full strength interferes with TV sets in France.
C5 has placed anonymous adverts in British newspapers which warn of possible
interference to non-retuned VCRs caused by “essential engineering
work”鈥攂ut it has placed none in France. C5 spokesman Charles Gardner
confirmed to 快猫短视频 that the station has no plans to run similar
adverts in France.
However, French TV engineers are aware of the experiment. If they experience
any interference they can complain to the Radiocommunications Agency in Britain.
