ALL Europeans who have had blood transfusions since 1990 should be offered tests to see whether they carry the virus that causes hepatitis C, says the European Association for the Study of Liver Disease. In a statement issued this week at its annual meeting in Copenhagen, doctors belonging to the association warn that as many as 10 million Europeans might unknowingly be infected with the virus.
