Win a stack of science books for foodies

This is your chance to win a set of books about better cooking and cocktail making through science, as well as the language of food

Win 3 books about the science of food and drink

As part of our effort to separate fact from fable when it comes to best practices in the kitchen, we are delighted to be giving away three great prizes for 快猫短视频 readers who love food and drink as much as they adore books.

All three prizes, courtesy of publisher W.W. Norton & Co. Ltd, will include a signed copy of The Food Lab: Better cooking through science by chef J. Kenji Lopez-Alt. From how to make foolproof hollandaise sauce to cooking the perfect steak, Lopez-Alt dispenses with kitchen myths and offers up tried and tested tips.

Second prize will also include a copy of The Language of Food: A linguist reads the menu by Dan Jurafsky, a linguist and computer scientist at Stanford University. In it, he explores everything from the word choices on fancy menus to the terms used to market crisps.

First prize will include these two titles, as well as a copy of Liquid Intelligence: The art and science of the perfect cocktail, by high-tech bartender Dave Arnold. With more than 120 recipes, the book tells you how to infuse your own vodka, make crystal clear ice cubes in your home freezer and, of course, impress guests with delicious drinks.
