The UK Co-op supermarket chain is working with London-based blockchain start-up Provenance to the origins of food sold in its stores. They plan to use the distributed digital ledger to make suppliers鈥 claims more transparent.

Body charger

when you鈥檙e wearing a T-shirt? A team at North Carolina State University have designed a skin patch that turns body heat into electricity to power wearable devices. By using the difference in temperature between your body and the surrounding air, the device can generate 20 microwatts of electricity per square centimetre of skin. The team have also built the patch into clothing.
