Negotiators for Iran and Western powers are set to miss the deadline to make a deal to limit Iran's nuclear activities in exchange for sanctions relief

THE deal was supposed to be done by now. But negotiators for Iran and the West are about to miss the 30 June deadline for making a deal to limit Iran鈥檚 nuclear activities in exchange for sanctions relief. As 快猫短视频 went to press the talks had been extended by a week.

The outlines of the deal were agreed in Lausanne, Switzerland, in April. Among other things, Iran agreed to abide by International Atomic Energy Agency rules allowing inspectors to check any site they deem suspicious, including military facilities.

But last week Iran鈥檚 supreme leader, Ali Khamenei, rejected any such military inspections. He also insisted sanctions be lifted before Iran reduces its stockpile of enriched uranium and enrichment equipment, as the agreement stipulates.

At the same time, a panel of 18 US experts insisted before lifting sanctions, a position likely to influence approval of any deal by the US Congress.
