In truth, it is better to get any sort of job, even if it is a low-prestige role or unrelated to your field. 鈥淚t shows employers in the future that you are committed to gaining employment,鈥 says Robinson. 鈥淎ll sorts of different kinds of jobs can give people valuable skills, even if they鈥檙e just skills related to being in the workplace. I think that can be very valuable, particularly if people haven鈥檛 got much exposure to the mechanics of going to work.鈥
