A CYBER-security test range, where utilities and banks can pit their networks against human hackers and computer viruses, is being opened in the UK this week.
Teams of 鈥渆thical hackers鈥� have been hired to ensure that the range, in Fareham, Hampshire, delivers realistic threats, says a spokesman for , which built the facility.
The centre has the computing power to simulate attacks on an entire nation鈥檚 networks, and a secure dedicated link to the US National Security Agency鈥檚 own cyber range in Maryland should help engineers work out how to fight international swarms of virus-infected computers.
