Nanotechnology and Homeland Security by Mark Ratner and Dan Ratner, Prentice Hall, $24.95, ISBN 0131453076 Reviewed by Mike Holderness
IT was the brilliantly opportunistic title that leapt out at me. Inside I found a crib-sheet for cynical funding applications, with implicit tips on just how far you might stretch the fundable buzzword 鈥渘anotechnology鈥. If you need Nanotechnology and Homeland Security (out in November), your bank manager knows who you are. And the award for best picture caption opportunity missed goes to: 鈥淣anopants in action鈥.
There is little new about nanotechnology here, however. For that, you may want to read the same authors鈥 Nanotechnology: A gentle introduction to the next big idea.
