The birthplace of the Web? A physics laboratory near Geneva. At some stage
there鈥檒l be a plaque at CERN in honour of the Web鈥檚 fathers, Tim Berners-Lee and
Robert Cailliau. But for now there is an excellent book written by James Gillies
with Cailliau about the nativity of an essential part of modern life, out this
week. If you鈥檇 like to follow up on our interview with Cailliau a few weeks ago,
How the Web Was Born is published by Oxford University Press,
拢8.99, ISBN 0192862073.
